So we are at a crossroads here at fireBwall. We aren't sure which features to put in the next release. Does anyone have any preferences?

Hello folks,
I would like to suggest:
1) Command line parameters, like:
-m --> start fireBwall minimized -np --> no pop-ups for alerts -lng "name of the language" --> define the language that fireBwall must use etc...
2) Full portable mode support. All files including logs and configurations files should be created and kept inside fireBwall folder in a convenient folder structure. Like:
fireBwall > Logs fireBwall > Config fireBwall > Lang etc...
3) An application tab module. A module that shows all applications and its connections. This module should as well support intercepting applications In/Out connections attempts.
That is all for now. Keep the good job!
Best regards,
Aeolis

What if the "full portable mode" was set in a command line parameter? For the command line parameters, should the values that are set be saved in the configuration? Start minimized is a new option coming to fireBwall 0.3.11.0
I think the easiest way for a full portable mode would be to have a cmd line parameter that says where the configuration area should be. For the installed version, keeping the executable and configurations are important for assuring the integrity of the executable(when UAC is enabled, Program Files is protected).
For the last one, we are still working on how we want to do that. There is a way that works without too much trouble in Vista/7 but not in XP. There are various other options that work in XP in as well as the newer ones, but are more difficult and possibly could lead to bugs. It may just be a feature we have only for Vista/7 for now, until we can implement it more later. I wouldn't expect either in 0.3.11.0 yet, because even the Vista/7 solution requires a lot of thought of how we are going to integrate it into the current architecture.
Thanks, Brian

Dear Brian,
Yes, it all could be done by command line parameters. But, I ask you to make the configuration files editable in text form like a "Config.ini" file that could be edited by notepad for instance. Thsi way it would be easier to edit the configuration file a keep it without always using command line parameters.
Keep the good job!
Best regards,
